Janta Mela a proof that SDF govt serves the people in a transparent way: CM

The first phase of much awaited Janta Mela was held today at Soreng Senior Secondary School ground, west Sikkim. Janta Mela organized by Rural Management and Development Department had the presence of Chief Minister Pawan Chamling as chief guest. Tokens of various schemes and benefits were distributed by chief minister Pawan Chamling in cash and kinds. Laptops to some SHGs and students, cheques of startup scheme along with land allotment letters were also distributed to the beneficiaries.
Addressing the gatherings, chief minister Pawan Chamling said that it is the SDF government that started Janta Mela, a unique initiative of the SDF government to deliver the benefits to the door step of the people. Adding that Janta Mela is organized nowhere in the world, chief minister said that it is only the state of Sikkim where the people are able to access direct benefits through Janta Mela.
Chief minister Pawan Chamling expressed that Janta Mela proves that the SDF government serves the people in a transparent way without making any partiality. He informed that almost 1 lakh families of Sikkim have been included in the Janta Mela beneficiaries list and the government has spent rupees 1000 crore for making all the necessary facilities available to people through Janta Mela. He exhorted that people should utilize the benefits provided to them in constructive way. He further informed that the state government will provide all the needed facilities to the people. He directed the government officials, panchayat members and SDF party functionaries to work in coordination to make the benefits available to the people in transparent way. “It is the responsibilities bureaucrats, panchayat members and party workers to make sure that benefits meant for common people are delivered properly.
He expressed that in case of any injustice happened to the people they can approach the chief minister’s office for redressal of issue. He informed that the state government has fulfilled all the demands placed by the people during his 32 days state’s tour. He shared that landless people of the state will be provided lands by the state government and the people who opt for trade and entrepreneurship will be given start up loans with 35% subsidy facilities. “The people should benefit from the welfare schemes initiated by the state government. Our mission is to make Sikkim a self-dependent and economically strong state”, he said.
Pawan Chamling branded Sikkim as one of the most secular state where religious liberty and communal harmony have fostered well and religious infrastructures of all the communities of Sikkim have been established all over the state. He termed the health, education and other sectors of the state developed and well maintained.
Describing about his political career Pawan Chamling called himself as an inclusive and populist politician. “My politics is inclusive, secular, people based and devoid of any violence. My politics prevails on ethics of love, non-violence, and tolerance. As a leader Pawan Chamling has never behaved rudely with the people”, he said.
He informed that the state government has given priorities for development of all the public sectors of the state. He pressed for participations of people for betterment of Sikkim. He called for greater involvement of Sikkimese people in the sectors such as tourism and agriculture.
