Anti-democratic elements will destroy the future of Sikkim if voted to power: Chamling

A district-level coordination meeting of Sikkim Democratic Front party for East District was held here at the party headquarter on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by SDF Party President, the Chief Minister Pawan Chamling.
A SDF press release issued by its general secretary [press & publicity], Amber Rai mentioned that in his address, SDF Party President mentioned that present Sikkim was in the good position due to good government and administration of the State. He expressed that if anti-people and anti-democratic elements with bad policies would come into the power then they will sell the fortune and future of Sikkim and its people.
He announced that the appointment letters to 20,000 youths of Sikkim under ‘One Family One Job’ scheme of SDF government would be provided in a grand ‘Rojgar Mela’ to be held in the first week of January at Gangtok. He also announced that the inauguration of multi-speciality hospital at Sokeythang in East Sikkim will be held on 15 January and Janta Mela will be starting from 16 January. On the same, he mentioned that the State government has targeted to provide atleast a benefit to every household of the State through Janta Mela.
CM informed that Sokeythang Hospital will have the treatment for cancer and all other diseases and free dialysis facility will be provided to kidney patients. He mentioned that the government has been working hard to make Sokeythang hospital the biggest government hospital in the country after AIIMS New Delhi and the best hospital of the country. He informed that the foundation of the medical college will be laid in this hospital in February, which will provide the free medical education to Sikkimese youths.
On the occasion, the CM announced that grade ‘D’ job will be provided to atleast three youths from each constituency in this hospital. He mentioned that the government will be providing assistance to priests, monks, pastor-elder and maulvi of temple, monastery, church and mosque to buy religious clothing during upcoming Janta Mela. He informed that site of 30X40 at urban areas and site of 40X60 at rural areas will be provided to land beneficiaries and lands from the government sites will be provided for graveyards to needy community.
CM mentioned that Sikkim has witnessed the unprecedented development during 24 years of SDF government and all these happens due to the right leadership of the party having progressive vision, policy and programme. He stated that all developments took place in Sikkim was due to the right policies of SDF party.
SDF Party President urged the party workers to take the upcoming election very seriously for the people of Sikkim. He said, “The upcoming election is more important for the people of Sikkim than me as the government will be formed by the mandate of the people.” He added that the people need the good government and only a good party having good policy, principle and programme can give the good government to the people. He further added that if corrupts and criminals will come into the power then they will destroy the future of youths and harmful to Sikkimese people.
He stated that no person and community in Sikkim was out from the reservation and Sikkimese does not need to pay any tax which was unique system in the world. He added that peace and security has been maintained in the State and Sikkim was gender discrimination Free State in the world. He expressed that the people of Sikkim have been experiencing the complete freedom in the State and the freedom of every person was the ultimate target of the independence.
He mentioned that the full protection has been provided to the business community of Sikkim and they have been working in the peace and without any threatening and extortion. He stated that the government has provided the full protection to them and the business community should give their contribution to maintain this peace and security.
CM informed that budgetary provision have been made by the government to constitute welfare boards for students and retired employees.
The release informed that CLC presidents presented the report of their respective constituency during the meeting. The meeting was attended by Zilla and Gram panchayats, office bearers of youth and Cheli front, ward and block level committees of the party, president and members of constituency level committees of East District along with SDF MLAs of East District and in-charge and members of district level committee.
