Minister for Health Care, Human Services and Family Welfare Deptt Arjun Kumar Ghatani inaugurated three key section including Intensive Care Unit, Upgradation of Laboratory and Opthalmology (Eye) unit at District Geyzing Hospital (w), today.
He was accompanied by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary Health Mr Vishal Chauhan IAS, Principal Director Dr. PT Bhutia, MD NHM Dr Bimal Kr. Rai, District Collector West Dr AB Karki, Additional Chief Engineer Mr CM Khatiwara, Director Health Services Dr Jigme Tobgay, Chief Medical Officer West Dr Tsheten Namgyal, Pfficials, Panchayats and others.
At the outset, Health Minister inaugurated upgraded medical laboratory that is now well equipped with Semi Auto Analyser, Elisa Washer, Elisa Reader, HBA-1, Electrolyte Analyser, Mixture Roller, Refrigerator in Laboratory and incubator and Hot Air Oven in Blood Storage Centre.
Thereafter, he inaugurated Intensive Care Unit in the district hospital wherein a Cardio Monitor and ECG machines have been installed.
Later, he inaugurated upgraded Eye unit wherein eye operation instrument and OT Equipments including Non contact Tonometer, Indirect Opthalmoscope, A – Scan, three sets of Bipolar Cautary, four sets of Micro Surgical Cataract sets, DCR sets have been installed to upgrade the existing facilities to new height.
After the series of inauguration Health Minister chaired a meeting with the health care professionals and congratulated entire medical fraternity for the remarkable upgradation and notable improvements in working system.
He also announced to begin construction of Blood Bank and Dialysis unit, in District Hospital Geyzing, immediately.
He drew lights on infrastructure development of PHCs, PHSCs, CHC and District Hospital Geyzing along with other health centres in the state. He also underlined ongoing construction of 50 bedded AYUSH Hospital and 30 bedded TB Hospital in Geyzing. He instructed concerned officials to complete construction of TB Hospital at least by February 2019 and highlighted various initiatives taken up by the state government to combat Tuberculosis under the leadership and guidance of the Chief Minister Shri Pawan Chamling, he added.
He articulated efforts of the state government to provide required manpower and expressed happiness over the recent development in terms of manpower including Specialist, Medical Officers, Staff Nurse in the district hospital and urged everyone to extend medical services with complete dedications, sense of cooperation and team work for the welfare of the patients.
Commissioner-cum-Secretary Mr Vishal Chauhan, in his address, said that the department is continuously working to improve the medical facilities in all health centres along with the district hospitals. He added that the Doctors, Staff Nurse and paramedics are heart and soul of the hospital and urged everyone for sincerity, punctuality and dedication to deliver duty with full responsibility. He encouraged staff nurse to join training programme with doctors together to achieve success in every medical cases. Further, he urged health care professionals to be familiar and well acquainted with upgraded technology.
Besides, the Health minister also visited ongoing construction of 30 bedded TB Hospital and 50 bedded AYUSH Hospital which are in verge of completion. He instructed concerned contractor to complete construction by AYUSH Hospital by January 2019 and TB Hospital by February 2019 without compromising on quality works. Health Minister also visited ongoing construction of ANM Training Centre-cum-Hostel at Kyongsa.
