LT seats reservation delayed due to complaints placed by some Negative forces of the state: CM
Geyzing, Dec 22
Chief Minister Pawan Chamling today expressed that the SDF government is keen to reserve seats for Limboo Tamang Communities in the state assembly from 40 seats after the delimitation of seats in the state is achieved. He maintained that if seats for Limboo Tamang community is reserved from existing 32 seats, injustice will happen to the people belonging to general category who consists of 60% of state’s population which is larger than the people belonging to tribal category. “Out of 32 seats, 13 seats have been reserved for B.L, 2 seats for scheduled caste and remaining 17 seats have been kept as general. If 5 seats for Limboo Tamang communities are reserved from available 17 general seats, the general seats falls down to only 12 and that would be an injustice to the communities belonging to general category. That is the reason why the SDF government has proposed for 40 seats formula”, Chamling said.
