A ward-level coordination meeting of Sikkim Democratic Front party for Samlick ward under Samlick-Marchak GPU of Martam-Rumtek constituency was held at Junekeri Dara in East Sikkim on Monday. The meeting was chaired by area MLA, Dr Mechung Bhutia and was attended by SamlickNamli Zilla panchayat Binita Rai, Samlick ward panchayat, Dhan ShayamDarnal, Namin ward panchayat Suresh Lohar along with CLC members, youths and Cheli of SDF party along with local gentries.
A SDF press release informed that in the programme, which was conducted by ward president, Bimal Shankar, publicity secretary, Samjhana Rai, Indra Dahal, Tashi Lepcha, Rajen Das Pradhan, Bimala Pradhan and others expressed their views and suggestions on the development of the society and talks about various developmental works for the ward.
Zilla Panchayat stated that by working on its pro-people programmes and policies SDF government has been providing various benefits and development to the people of Sikkim. On the same, he urged the people to support SDF party to continue the development.
Area MLA stated that SDF party has people-centre and pro-poor policies and programme. He stressed upon the need of the participation of local people in the development of Sikkimese society. He suggested that local people to adopt the profession in home stay in their house in villages. Dr Bhutia assured land donors to take the issue of delay in a tourism project at Junekeri Dara in Samlick ward to the contractor and the department. He mentioned that the inclusive policy of One Family One Job of SDF party was an exemplary in the country. He informed that CM has already sanctioned works for the development of the constituency which were announced during 32 days state-wide Jan Samparkh and Jan Sewa Abhiyan of the CM.
Dr Bhutia urged the people to take the full advantages of various programmes and schemes of the government. He also speaks about various inclusive programmes and schemes of SDF government and the CM in the interest of Sikkim and its people. He stated that the people should support that party and the leaders which have been working in the interest of Sikkim and its people. He added that SDF government has been working in the interest of poor people. He informed that the priority will be given to only need family for the distribution of benefits in upcoming Janta Meal in January. He urged educated youths to take the benefit of the Startup Scheme to be self employed and self reliant.
On the occasion, Area MLA presented 30 chairs and three tables to an organisation of Samlick ward for its selfless contribution and required materials for the construction of toilets to 20 families.
The meeting was started with welcome address by ward panchayat Dhan Shyam Darnal and concluded with vote of thanks by Pragati SHG president, Preeti Pradhan.
